At Lead Pronto, we love to celebrate the journeys and successes of our team members who make everything we do possible. This time, we’re shining a light on Aaron Dwyer, who’s just marked his first year with us. To celebrate his first anniversary, we caught up with him to chat about his background, his growth here and what he’s learned along the way.

Can you tell us a little bit about your background and what led to you joining Pronto?

“I embarked on this career path around five years ago, initially writing code in my spare time for an online gaming community within Grand Theft Auto 5. My girlfriend encouraged me to pursue a qualification in Software Development, so I enrolled in an online course to earn a Diploma as a Full Stack Web Developer. Although the course was designed to last a year, I completed it in just five months, during which I also relocated from Belfast to Wirral, England.

My first role as a Software Developer was with an IT company where I worked during the lockdown period for a year. I then transitioned to a Marketing company where I gained valuable insights into Digital Marketing. However, it’s at Lead Pronto that I’ve truly thrived and developed my skills further.”

You’ve been with us for a year now, can you tell us about how your role has evolved since you started?

“I initially joined Pronto as a Web Developer, focusing on building and maintaining websites. However, as I gained experience and a deeper understanding of the company’s needs, my role naturally evolved into that of a Development Manager. In this capacity, I now lead the Data team, where I specialise in tackling complex coding challenges, integrating various systems, and analysing data to drive better business outcomes. My transition into this role has allowed me to broaden my skill set and take on more responsibility, which has been both challenging and rewarding. It’s been exciting to contribute to the growth of the team and to play a key role in shaping the direction of our development efforts.”

What are some of the key achievements that you’re particularly proud of?

“One of my key achievements was developing an internal system for tracking campaign spends and client budgets, which included bespoke tools and interactive maps to provide more precise and user-friendly insights. This system has significantly improved our ability to manage resources and monitor client investments effectively.

Following that, I led the implementation of TapClicks, an advanced analytics and reporting platform. TapClicks has revolutionised the way we handle data by streamlining the integration of various marketing channels, enabling us to deliver more comprehensive and actionable insights to our clients. This project not only enhanced our reporting capabilities but also allowed us to make data-driven decisions with greater efficiency. I’m particularly proud of how these initiatives have contributed to the overall success and operational efficiency of the team.”

What personal achievements or growth have you experienced as a result of your work here?

“As a result of my work here, I have experienced significant personal growth and achieved notable milestones. One of the most gratifying accomplishments has been receiving the Employee Choices Outstanding Achievement award, which stands as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion I bring to my role. Additionally, being recognised as Employee of the Month has further affirmed my commitment to excellence and my ability to make a positive impact within the team. These accolades not only highlight my professional achievements but also reflect the personal growth I’ve undergone, developing skills in leadership, collaboration, and resilience.”

Have there been any challenges that you’ve faced in your role? If so, how did you overcome them?

“One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced was transitioning from a Web Developer role to becoming a Development Manager, where I now oversee the data team. This shift required me to adapt quickly, learning new tools and approaches related to data management. However, I drew on my experience in software development to guide system architecture and ensure seamless integrations. By combining my technical background with leadership skills, I’ve been able to support my team effectively and bridge the gap between development and data-focused projects.”

How has the company culture supported you in achieving your goals, and what aspects of our culture do you find most valuable?

“The flexible work hours have been a huge support, letting me start early and finish early, which really helps with work-life balance. Having one day a week to work from home is also a big plus, as it breaks up the week and gives me a change of pace.

I also appreciate the regular social events where we celebrate each other’s achievements. It fosters a sense of community and recognition that makes the workplace more enjoyable and motivating.”

What methods or tools do you have in place to help structure your day?

“To structure my day effectively, I rely primarily on Monday.com, which serves as the cornerstone of my organisational system. This tool allows me to keep all tasks consolidated in one centralised location, making it straightforward to prioritise, complete, and delegate important responsibilities. It also offers the added advantage of maintaining a detailed record of historical tasks, providing quick access to past information when needed. Beyond this, I often integrate other complementary tools, such as calendar scheduling and reminders, to ensure that my day is both productive and well-coordinated. These methods collectively enable me to manage my workload with efficiency and precision.”

Outside of work, what are some of your interests or hobbies? How do you balance these with your professional life?

“Outside of work, I love gaming, cooking, and renovating my house. Gaming is a fun way for me to relax and challenge myself, while cooking lets me experiment with new recipes and unwind after a long day. Renovating my house is a hands-on hobby that keeps me busy and lets me be creative.

I try to balance these hobbies with work by setting aside time for each, so I can enjoy them without feeling overwhelmed. These activities help me stay refreshed and give me a break from the daily grind, making my life more enjoyable overall.”

Can you share a fact about yourself that might surprise people?

“I used to work at a sound company in Ireland, where I toured as a Sound & Lighting Engineer.”

We’re incredibly proud to have Aaron as a key member of the Lead Pronto team. His journey from Web Developer to Development Manager is a testament to his dedication, talent, and ability to adapt and grow in the ever-evolving digital landscape. Here’s to many more successful years ahead, Aaron!
