After completing her digital marketing apprenticeship with us at Lead Pronto and Apprentify, we had the opportunity to sit down with Skye McBride to gain some insights into her apprenticeship experience. Here’s what Skye had to say:
What led you to pursue an apprenticeship in digital marketing?
“My interest in digital marketing was first sparked during university, where I studied music production and focused on marketing as part of my course. After spending a few years in the hospitality industry, I decided to pursue a career in digital marketing. An apprenticeship appealed to me as a great way to kickstart my career, offering the ideal mix of hands-on industry experience and ongoing study.”
What’s been the highlight of your apprenticeship?
“Having the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience in marketing has been the highlight for me. I feel I’ve learned a tremendous amount in my first year by being in a real working environment. Everyone’s been so supportive, especially my manager Oliver Creevy who definitely deserves a shout out! I’ve learnt so much by just being immersed from the get go!”
What’s been the hardest part?
“The hardest part’s definitely been prioritising responsibilities. I was eager to do my job and do it well, but also had to prioritise the apprenticeship work. It was tough trying to strike that balance at times.”
How has your role at Pronto evolved over the past year?
“My role has evolved in the best possible way. I feel incredibly lucky to have landed a job at Pronto, this position has given me fantastic opportunities for career progression, and I’m so happy to be part of such an amazing team. With all the business growth of late, I can’t wait to see what the next few years have in store for me!”
What do you love most about your job?
“I like the independence this job offers; it’s also a fast-paced environment which keeps us busy and on our toes.”
What are your professional goals for the next few years?
“My professional goals for the next few years include continuing to learn and expanding into a more independent role. I aim to challenge myself by effectively managing more clients and advancing to the next stage of my career!”
What advice would you give to someone considering a digital marketing apprenticeship?
“I’d say go for it! An apprenticeship offers a great glimpse into what working life is really like. It’s so important to keep learning and up-skilling even after your apprenticeship ends to stay ahead in your field!”
Any tips for someone starting in SEO?
“Everyone has a slightly different approach to SEO, find out what works and what doesn’t and keep up to date with the latest algorithm updates.”
Congratulations, Skye! Your hard work and passion inspire us all. Here’s to many more achievements and continued success in your career.
The Skye’s truly the limit! 🚀
